Have you set a goal for this year? We Japanaese people establish a goal on New Year’s day, and I bought a daruma doll for my sons to encourage them to go for what they want.
This daruma doll, vary in color or size, but mostly red and still has white eyes. The recipient colors one eye black as he sets a goal, and encourage himself for it. If he reaches the goal, he colors the other eye. There is a weight in the bottom of the daruma, and even if he has fallen it comes up by itself, wishing that we get up as many times as we’re down. Also note the grim face that shows he is working hard!
